x Halimiocistus wintonensis

x Halimiocistus wintonensis (x Halimiocistus wintonensis)

Another plant with parents from two different families - halimium and cistus. These are both sun-lovers and so is the result. It grows about two feet tall and three feet across and has put up with the odd car reversing into it.
Compare the flower colour with paeonia rockii (which I posted a few days ago)

I have this plant - I just love the flowers, from the deep crimson spots to the butter-milk centre to the pure white of the outer edge of the flower. A little work of art. Mine just came into flower yesterday - nice to welcome back an old friend :-)

I must look out for this - I don't succeed with Halimiums but do with Cistus. Maybe this would also thrive?
