We took the top out like you have Mushy and left the tall trunk part and have put a Clematis up it , i'm still hoping it might shoot out from the bottom .....

Shame Mushy, it looked like it was a big one, multi stem'd to.. I lost mine but it was coming out this year anyway, It never looked the same once it flowered... What you planting in its place?

Mine did as well surprisingly .Its been very odd as what has not made winter and what has this year if you see what i mean
