`They are flowering beautifully at the moment....i have mine in a container
i do love these plants, i am afraid, now we are having a lot of rain, the Slugs
are on the warpath...i would hate to see this Beauty spoilt Motinot?
I hope someone can give you a name for this, as i am interested to know
too....

I've had this Dahlia for about 5 years now Freesia/p.....I still dont know the name...It looks like a few i have seen but i am still unsure....I dont have many problems with slugs....Its the dreaded earwigs..they eat the flowers at night and sleep among the petals during the day...I know about the straw method in the up-turned pots, but because i have a major dislike to ear-wigs i wouldn't be able to discard the little blighters each day.....yuck....shiver....lol...So i put up with the creepies because these are my favourite flowers...:>)..ps..It looks a bit like 'kenora sunset'

Oh! Maybe that is my problem...EARWIGS!! I will have to check them,
daily now...i do also, like you, love my Dahlia`s Motinot...mine are looking
okay! just at the moment, but they have been chewed quite badly, but seem
to have overcome it...

Maybe the earwigs are on the decline now Freesia/p....when i am deadheading, i tap the dead head on the ground and usually at least one earwig pops out.......I then stand on it......:<(
