Ficus cyathistipula and Bananas in my back yard

Ficus cyathistipula and Bananas in my back yard (Ficus cyathistipula)

My Ficus cyathistipula is turning into a monster...it's going to need a good pruning soon. The white Iholena bananas below are starting to flower. Photo taken Sept. 18, 2010.

People keep planting these cute little Ficus microcarpa "lollipops", and then wondering what to do with that monster tearing up their house foundation 10 years later!

Tugbrethil:

I see so many Ficus species planted in the worst spots here also. Most do eventually become gigantic monster trees. This Ficus is native to the Congo region of Africa and luckily is in a good spot.
