They seem to like well drained dappled shade along my south wall in this pot where they are growing underneath the protection of the palm and they overwinter there well....I do not think that they like 'winter wet' as I have lost the bulbs in wetter areas of the garden. So yes, I suppose they are fussy , at least I have found that they perish in other areas where I have attempted to keep them. ;)
