Thanks HB and DD, I wanted a lower roof to stop a lot of pigeons from raiding all the food from the smaller birds. I still put a sprinkle of food on the path but got fed up with the pigeons devouring the lot. The bird table was a birthday gift from different friends and family giving me presents of money.

Its a lovely table Linda and a good idea to look for a lower roof we get a lot of pigeons in fact I'm convinced they think I put the grain out just for them ,they sit on the fence waiting at the set times I put it out ...
