rabbit testing new plants

rabbit testing new plants (Cornish hedge under construction)

New purchases being offered to see if they're munchable. If they are I'll plant them in a different part of the garden which is rabbit proofed with a fence.

That's a good idea ...

It saves a bit of annoyance. I do find that sometimes the rabbits wait til you've planted whatever it is before deciding to have a go. I'll spread these out a bit more so they can have a good look at them all.

I've added this to Design Ideas, because it seems a very good idea to test out plants in this way before you complete your design..... :o)

Wow, thanks again! :-)

When I add to GoYpedia categories, I try to imagine someone searching the headings and what they hope to find....

...for instance "Walls" might be building a wall, looking at various types of walling, or trying to decide what to plant in front of a wall ...

i like the border you've done, looking for ideas as we are having a gravel garden put in, didn't think of doing a planting area like that but i do like it!

Thanks Sewingkilla. I discovered that I didn't wait long enough for the rabbits to find the plants. Our garden has been discovered by a baby rabbit that's tasting EVERYTHING! Even the plants his mum & dad know not to bother with, so almost all the plants are inside wire guards now. I'm considering making a "zoo" themed garden as everything's in its own cage.
