A rainforest Ficus, strangler fig . a seed is passed through a bird via its droppings onto a high tree branch. the seed germinates , lets down roots from high in the canopy, eventually the roots enter the ground , more roods decend until there are many . over many years the strangler fig begins to enclose the host tree until its dead The fig remains and the host tree rots inside the network of roots.Figs are edible
