Hi Freesiap as soon as it gets dark the younger ones come and feed then about an hour later the older ones come and feed they seem to be in the garden all night, must be plenty for them to eat. With them and the frogs I think that why I see so few slugs etc.
Under the Junipers which are big and thick there seems to be a nest of new baby hedgehogs, we have only seen one briefly today it didnt seem to have spines must be very young.

I am glad to hear, that you seem to have quite a large family, visiting you
Drc...i was reading in last month`s RSPB that they were worried about
the Hedgehog population, declining, sad news if it is true...we need wonderful
and kind, people like yourself, who feed & tend these cute little creatures
helping to conserve them...Good on you!!!

Its easy to do and gives us much pleasure. I do worry about gardeners using things like Slug Pellets and wish they wouldnt as the hedgehogs eat the pest that eat the pellets and they die too.

27 May, 2010

I think Slug pellets should be BANNED there are other good solutions that can be used, instead of chemicals...this is 1 big problem, that is killing our
Hedgehogs....: ~ (((
