He may look sweet but the little guy (I call him Stumpy, cause he has a short little tail) who visits my patio boxes digs holes and undermine roots on my plants!! ARRRGG!!

I've them in my yard too! Cutest little things, ever! But...they do more damage to the lawns & gardens than any other animal in the yard!! They are like moles, with tunnels everywhere!

The first summer we were here we saw one, and boy, was he cute.
The second summer, we thought there was just one, but he did a lot of damage.. singe bites out of dozens of tomatoes. Random bites out of 2 of the 3 pumpkins I was growing..
This spring we found many more holes around the yard, and we were worried our dog would snap his leg if stepped in one of the holes while running around.
They also tore apart all the seedlings I put at the side to acclimate, then after a while all the seeds THEY "planted" in the cell packs started sprouting lol.
About 30 minutes after this picture was taken he went into our shed where we managed to trap him in a box, and relocated him to a lovely wooded area along the Grand River. This is the second one we have relocated in the last month, and hopefully we won't see any around for a while.
Though, they really are cute....
