How lovely to see RED squirrels. I've only ever seen one over here. Are they common where you are?

We've lived here 1 1/2 years and this is the first one we have seen. People say they are common. But this is our first. It doesn't seem afraid until the dog goes outside and then he doesn't get in a big hurry to get away. The bird feeder hangs over our deck at the back of the house. We are surrounded by woods on three sides.
