This is the 2nd year of trianing.I think the tree is 3 yrs old though.I noticed that both my pear trees are growing faster on the left side.I wonder why that is?

I have one..yes one lonely pear on the other pear tree, because I actually hand pollinated it before all the ants ruined one lucky blossom.
However it is grwoing rather slow , as I didn't know that further pruning while a tree is in fruit will cause an interruption in the grow.( I recently read that).

I was fortunate to have a hardy, full grown pear tree on the property when we bought it. It is loaded down with pears every summer. Hang in, yours will get there.

I'm paying special attention to these trees.Hopefully by next Spring it'll have grown more. Our frosts can be deadly to them.I read that one can put a drape cloth on the tree in early Spring when the flowers come to help..I'm considering this.

Looks like you're making good progress. However, several years to go before any pears.
