I've loved & been fascinated by Magnolias since I was a wee tot, and this is one of my favourite of all flowers. I love the simplicity and elegance of it. Also wilsonii flowers for a long period through summer (well away from any danger of frosts) and sets copious, highly ornamental scarlet seed pods. The summer flowering Magnolias are always covered in pollen beetles, a few of which can be seen in this pic.

It is a beautiful flower Ilex. I love white in the garden. Have added it to my favourites.
Best wishes

Another great picture.

This tree is seen round my home town quite a bit as it was given out free (!) to people visiting the new zinc mine when it was opened about 25 years ago, actually maybe more. A strange gift, but lovely in Summer. I have yet to see a really good one as the soil here is heavy clay and they may struggle a bit.
