Gotcha! this Lily Beetle on a Lily, missed one of 2 yesterday on same plant. They also lay their eggs on Fritillaria. I put my hand underneath the leaf on which they are, as they tend to drop off the plant onto the ground if they feel a motion. Then I tread on it.

I am surprised that although the Beetles decimate this yellow and brown hybrid Lily each year until it's all tatters, it has increased to 6 plants. Martagon Fairy Morning is to their liking too.

I do try to keep removing the beasties or their disgusting lavae, which are covered with their own excrement.

I used to collect and send them to the John Inns centre at Norwich Sue I'm not sure what became of their tests I didn't hear anything afterwards ...
