hahaha funny you should say that, Mike. I took a pic to show Gilli the mini orchid that I am giving to my friend Jean as part of her Christmas gift...lol. I'll have to find another for myself. This little beauty has proved itself by reblooming. the "mandibles" look a little different on this P. and no I won't be spoiling the surprise, Jean doesn't use a computer.

Oh this is really pretty Lori. I love the veining on the petals. Will Jean miss it if it doesn't turn up with the rest of her Christmas gift???? LOL

thanks folks...
Oh Gilli...I am sorely tempted but no...I have another P. putting up a flower stalk, ..it's not a miniature..but it's blossom is similar in colour. I'm still "jollying" my white along...the blossoms on it (when it decides to bloom again...let it be soon) are huge...about three inches across and the bloom spike is usually 24" long or more...looks like a cloud of butterflies when blooming!! I put it out in a shade porch this summer and I'm hoping that that bit of conditioning will bring it into blossom this winter. the blossoms last for months! no kidding.

Hi Flcrazy! My friend is an expat Brit...she came to Canada after the War as a War Bride....She now lives in a snug semi in town but her life was spent in a country house in the Eastern Townships of Quebec...she has albums of her gardens...and kept houseplants too...she is nearing her nineties now and enjoys keeping a couple of saintpaulias that I gave her...they are blooming so beautifully because she's taking care of them so I decided that she might like to grow Phals too! She was a little worried...like most of us she assumed that orchids required extreme amounts of care and special facilities...I'm going to enjoy watching her get hooked on them!! lol.
