I made this the other night for dinner, for the first time. It came out pretty good :)

please stop making me hungry, Tastey!! I had a glass of cranberry-pomegranate juice for dinner - there just wasn't anything in the house I wanted to eat! Now I will just have to go to China Wok tomorrow for lunch.

no, I didn't go to China Wok, because I forgot when I wrote that comment that I didn't have any money, because I spent it all on plants and dog food. There are limited veg options there anyway! I wouldn't mind having your recipe for the mushrooms and beans, though!

Laura- I don't really have a "recipe"...but let's see...
Add a little oil (a Tbsp or 2) to a hot frying pan or wok if you've got one. Throw in chinese long bean (cut into bite size pieces) and sliced mushrooms. Also add a few pieces of sliced fresh ginger (skin removed) or you could use powdered ginger if fresh is not available. Also add a clove or 2 of sliced fresh garlic. Add a little water at this point just enough so the pan is not dry. Cook for may 5-8 mins stirring or tossing so as not to burn. I usually try a bean to see if it's done. You can turn heat to med-low and add small amount of oyster sauce (1 teaspoon at a time, to your taste ) careful, it's salty! Add about a 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil. Add small amount of soy sauce. Toss this all together until well incorperated. Now make a constarch slurry, by adding contarch and water together. Once that is well mixed turn up heat to high. Make sure there is enough liquid in the pan, if not add a little. Once the liquid is bubbling whisk in cornstarch slurry to thicken sauce. If it becomes too thick just add more water. And there you go!
Hope you try this and enjoy it! I bought my long beans at the local market $4.99 a pound!!!!!! I bought a little less than 1/2 pound, so it only cam e out to around $2 for 2 people, so not that bad. There were not the best looking ones that I've seen...especially for that price. My ex used to grows these in the garden and they were much better. So if you can grow them yourself!!! :))
