Thanks, Mike it is an old (by North American standards) Cherry tree which is just coming into bloom.

Sadly, somehow Phytophthora lateralis has arrived in the park beside me and is slowly attacking my Rhodies, I am probably down to about 75 now.

Oh no ..that is a disaster for you! That disease could spell the end of many gardens here in Scotland if it takes a hold. lets hope they find a cure for it soon.
