Daphne x napolitana 'Stasek'

Daphne x napolitana 'Stasek'

I got two of these last year and this is the first time I've seen one flower. They've grown quite a bit since last year.

Very attractive leaves, especially the new growth.

Katarina- I have no idea, I read on one of the tags on the plant that it was from Romania. Not sure how accurate that information is. Wherever it came from, it's a very nice plant and relatively new. Doesn't seem to be a sensitive variety either. If you're ever interested in trying one of these it might be labeled as Daphne cneorum 'Stasek'.

I like the foliage too, the variegation isn't as bold as Carol Mackie but it does sort of remind me of a miniature version with pink flowers.

Hello, Robert. How sensitive are Daphne to frosts and how big does this one grow? Do you have your own experience with it?

It depends on the species and the time of year with frosts. The later flowering and growing daphnes might not harden off before fall frosts and daphnes that grow/flower early in the season can be damaged by a late spring frost. I have never had a daphne badly injured by frost and I have close to twenty of them. They are nowhere near as sensitive to frost as Hydrangea macrophylla.
This daphne will be under 30cm tall and 30-40cm wide. I've grown this variety for a few years, it's a very nice small variety daphne.
