I love these, Meanie!
I had one before...but I lost it in the deep freeze. It had easily lasted through the winter before but it wasn't as big or as woody as this one. It's in a pot this time, though, just to be on the safe side...

...lol Pixi..at least it smells wonderful! I have Phlomis Russeliana in my front garden. It is very similar to this in flower shape and size and colour, but the flowers seem to grow up from a huge mound of beautiful heart-shaped leaves...not so far in this woody way. I am really pleased with it, definitely worth a look. I'd put a pic on, but no flowers yet, just the lovely mound of leaves.

Strange...but I've not really done very well with the "stuffing" sort of sage, here, Pixi...maybe it knows I don't like the taste of it very much. ;)
Every other sort seems to just do its own thing, though...
The last one I had wasn't woody like this, Karen - but it bit the dust in Febuary...I love the way the stems grow up out of the middles of the flowers...
So I'm keeping this one in a big pot, J! Well for as long as it'll have it...I was gutted to lose the last one.
Actually, the last one looked more like yours, Karen...
I can't stop yet, Suzy...I'm on a roll...! Still too much space to fill! lol! ;))
I saw it growing wild in the bush in Botswana last Spring, Lil - it was tall and spectacular! :)

Wow, these grow wild here.....
I have a picture on my mobile. Don't they grow wild in France Karen?

Maybe I need to do a bit more on that front too, J... :s
I've never seen them wild, here, Alex...Only in Africa. I think they like it to be a hotter...
Can you post your photo? :))

Very nice Karen!
I'm after one for my garden, but most look like to be miserable specimens.
