I live and garden in west Central London....not a huge garden,...but it seems quite big when it comes to hacking back rampant ivy or digging up brambles.
The ground here is pretty good, tends towards the clay type... until our houses were built in the 1860's this area was still open farm land and country side..with market gardens and dairy farms that supplied London. In our front garden plants pop up that are vestiges of that time ....Wood Violets, Wild Garlic, Bluebells and so forth.
We have a nest box on the house which is regularly used by a pair of Great Tits..so we have installed a web cam in it this year, and wired it into the computer..so will keep you all posted on any developements.
