I think it probably is, I dug a piece up the last time you visited me, much to your OH disgust, doesn't like Alliums. I agree they do seed around unless you chop off the spent flower heads.

I wouldn't object to this seeding sound.....

They aren't too difficult to weed out, unlike some Alliums, tend to remain in a compact clump.

It is still going strong......
