This 30 ft. Aloe is growing at my friends house in the Oakland Hills, San Francisco Bay Area. I remember when it was planted back in 1991. It has a gigantic trunk. Photo taken Feb. 21, 2020.

Its magnificent!...Like hens teeth to see big ones in the bay area. I planted one from a small cutting I stuck in the ground around 20 years ago. It's a slender triple trunk 10' plant. It's getting too much shade, but that's the best spot I had at the time.

This tree was from a 6' cutting from Inga Hoffman's garden in San Leandro. Her tree is much older. I haven't seen it in years. I think Inga passed away about 10 years ago. She had a magnificent garden. I was introduced to her and her husband back in 1984 when I joined the International Palm Society.

I googled your friends yard- very impressive. Never sees a frost in those hills. I think he even inspired a couple of other homes on that street.
As jealous as I get for bigger yards? I have to tell myself I'm lucky to even have yards. Most of what's being built around me are condos.
But I'm kind of peeved-lol,that I've planted up the in ground areas. To add is to remove!

The larger the yard the more work. As it is I can barely keep up. 20 or 30 years ago it was much easier. 😂
