There is a type of wild dicentra here which has populated a whole hillside...I just can't believe it either, Sandra. It makes me wonder if maybe I have it backwards...perhaps I should just sit back for a year and take stock of what is enjoying the spaces I wish to populate with my plants. I'm really happy that my ligularias seem quite at home already...My cousin called me to tell me that I shouldn't take too long to get the rest of my plants as my peony was growing out of the pot...when I collected it, it surprisingly had 22 shoots and a bud on each one!! It seems to enjoy where I've put it in the transfer bed. I saw a goy member who was looking for trilliums...I have thousands ...all growing in the forest.

thanks Amy. I have harvested the seed head (pic of which is on my page...going back a few months) I left it in the forest as long as I could...harvested it after the first frost and have allowed the pips to dry a little. Will make sure they are well dried before packaging them.
Now that I know the location of many of the treasures I'll be ready with the camera next spring!
