I love this!
Still deciding whether to try and lift mine when I move as I've heard they dislike it?

Its an Asphodeline lutea, a common name is King's sword Linda.
If you lift it with plenty of soil around it it should lift ok Meanie.

Cheers SBG!
No sign of a flower spike so I'll try it. Just didn't want to leave the new owner a big hole for no good reason.

Oh I am Sandra.
Meanie have you sold your house as after that you are not meant to take plants. having said that dig some compost into the surrounding soil and smooth the surface out. Hole what hole? :o)

New owner knows that I'm taking "selected" plants SBG.
I am leaving the door handles though, unlike when I moved in! Come to think of it, only two bulbs were working in the kitchen too!!

Thats ok then Meanie.
we had no bulbs/curtainrails or storage heaters when we got the keys. So I know what you mean. when do you move? and what is the new garden space like?

When my sister moved there were no light switches! Quick call to the solicitor and there was a sparky there within the hour!!
Move in next weekend, but the money and paperwork changes hands Monday! We've known each other for years and I almost bought it four years ago, so it's not as iffy as it sounds! Raised my solicitors eyebrows though!
As far as the garden goes it's my idea of hell at the moment - it has Japanese Anenomes, Roses and Perriwinkle! But much larger and has a greenhouse. Plus a cellar where I'm thinking of building a vivarium.

What else?
See who else is growing Asphodeline lutea (King's Spear).
See who else has plants in genus Asphodeline.
