I already have one - but I wanted to plant one near the Convulvulus cneorum. I shall put a plant with contrasting foliage colour between them.

Have you got A. nervosa ' Westland', too, Dee? That comes into its own in colder weather - the leaves get a reddish stripe. :-))

My Astelia nearly died last winter, so it is now in a pot and will be moved to somewhere warm......

I fleeced mine - and I have fleece ready to do it again this year if frosts are forecast. They survived OK, which is more than the Coprosmas did! :-(

i have trouble remembering to cover the rabbits hutches when frost forecast let alone any plants that may need it. i suppose if i were a 'lady of leisure' it would be easier :o)
