Thought I would try to take a piccie indoors under the worktop light. It shows the 'leaves'and the 'elephant's foot' base.

Got a 'real' bargain yesterday. Saw a reduced Phormium in a well known d.i.y. store's gardening section. Daren't tell you their name as the staff there will surely get into trouble! Anyway, it was reduced, with 3 others, from £29.99 to £19.99 and looked very healthy. I asked if there was something wrong with it and they said not. When they scanned it at the till as I was about to pay, they said it wasn't on the system so they would have to check. They came back to say, get this, 'it was past it's sell-by date' and should have been thrown away ages ago!! I thought only food had sell-by dates. Anyway, as I had tried to pay for it, I could have it for free!! I said that there were 3 others, but I wasn't allowed to get them as they HAD just been thrown away. How wasteful. They could have reduced them to £5 each and people would have bought them. Shh... don't tell everyone

Homebird. Neither had I. It really was a bargain though, honest! It looked unusual to me and that's what initially got my attention. The reduction from £9.99 to £2.99 made my mind up in the end!
