Brahea brandegeei - San Jose Hesper Palm

My neighbor's San Jose Hesper palm was blowing in the very strong winds (gusts to 45 mp/h) which hit San Diego last night and today. Photo taken Nov. 16, 2015.

It's very difficult to tell the difference in Brahea species. This is a very old tree. Brahea brandegeei grows very slowly, although this one seems to grow pretty fast because it's well established.
I noticed yesterday my neighbors had this tree cut back drastically. I guess they're getting it ready for El Nino storms.
