Brugmansia 'Ecuador Pink'

Brugmansia 'Ecuador Pink' (Brugmansia 'Ecuador Pink')

This Angel's Trumpet plant is pretty crowded with other trees and plants. It's difficult to get a good photo. Photo taken June 19, 2017.

Another stunning one that is such a shame is crowded by other plants I would cut the other plants back providing the others were as good .

Thank you! :>))

Unfortunately, I need to keep it dense in this spot, because I have lots of palms underneath these trees which must have shade or they'll burn up in the very hot San Diego sun.

21 Jun, 2017

That is what I call clever planting yes of course the plams wood need shade

21 Jun, 2017

Yes, some palms need blasting hot sun and other need almost complete shade outdoors. Most Chamaedoreas species (which I have under the Angel's Trumpets) need a lot of shade or they will burn up and die.

21 Jun, 2017

Thats would be a shame if they burnt could you not build a structure to shade your palms from this heat.

21 Jun, 2017

Yes, I have a shade structure. I have several plants and palms under it, already and a tent in the back yard with virtually no sun. They're all filled with plants. lol! Too many plants. :>))

22 Jun, 2017

Thats great you have so many shaded areas especially one not having sun I bet its cool for the plants lol Andy you ll have to move and a get a larger garden I can think of worse hobbies you could have to many things than gardening .

22 Jun, 2017

Actually, in the shade it can be very hot...luckily, they just don't get burned in the sun.

26 Jun, 2017

Yes I can imagine even in the shade it gets very hot but at least as you say tgey dont get burned thankfully.

27 Jun, 2017

Yes, my small palms like heat, however, dislike full sun. It's still very hot here. I've been swimming in the late evening the last two nights.

27 Jun, 2017

I have two fan Palm which I keep on the shaded side of my garden glad I had them placed there now.

I bet kept you cool Andy if I could swim I would do the same lets hope it get s cooler on Wednesday for you.

There's many palms which love full sun. I have plenty of species which don't like sun, though.

It was refreshing in the pool. Sometimes the water is too warm and it's not refreshing. At least it's not like out in Palm Spring where the pools become so hot they need overnight aerators to cool the water. (I know it sounds funny; however, all the pool have them in Palm Springs).

28 Jun, 2017

Are they all native to San Diego its nice to have a mix of sun lovers and ones that like shade.

Thats good it was refreshing for you no warmer water in a hot country would nt be refreshing I can see your piont there.

I bet thats great in Palm Springs when they have aerators to cool the water having hot water in Palm Springs would be like having a hot bath lol.

Its the opposite here we like tepid pool water having colder weather over here .

28 Jun, 2017

No, none are native to San Diego. lol! There's many hundreds of species of palms which grow in San Diego. We have such a perfect mild subtropical climate for growing many tropical palms and plants. :>))

2 Jul, 2017

lol I would of tought some would of been native.
Thats great you can grow so many topical plants there

Washingtonia filifera is native to California (the desert areas). Several Brahea species of palms are native just over the border in Mexico.

5 Jul, 2017

I bet Mexico have some great plants.

5 Jul, 2017

Yes, Mexico is a very large country. It has some really beautiful plants, trees. When you cross the border you're in Baja California, Mexico. It's mostly dry desert. There's several Brahea species which grow there.

All of the Brahea species palms grow here in San Diego very easily.

5 Jul, 2017

Do you ever bring back plants or older plants from Mexico or are you not allowed with them having such beautiful plants there . Yes San Dieago being close by the border of Baja I can imagine the Brahea grow well there.

5 Jul, 2017

I haven't been to Mexico in many years. I don't go because it's a really, really long wait coming back across the border. It's not easy to bring things back from Mexico like it used to be.

11 Jul, 2017

Yes I have seen the long queue s on tv here so I can understand you not going any more plus not being able to bring things in shame really.

11 Jul, 2017

Yes, you need a passport, also. For many years one didn't need to have a passport. One just had to show a U.S. driver's license.

16 Jul, 2017

I assume thats because of more coming in to America from Mexico.

16 Jul, 2017

Definitely, The San Ysidro crossing to Mexico is the busiest border crossing in the world!

16 Jul, 2017

Wow is that the same boarder close by where they dig the tunnels to smuggle in people and drugs I ve watched on tv

17 Jul, 2017

Yes, the San Diego - Mexico boarder is notoriously famous for tunnels and smuggling drugs, people across the boarder, unfortunately.

17 Jul, 2017

Makes you wonder how they can fit in some tunnels they are that small its just ashame it causes inconvience to others in queue s because of people like this.
