This phant is at City Farmer's Nursery in San Diego, CA. This variety of Brunfelsia grows much larger flowers (to 6in/15cm wide) and leaves (9in/23cm long) than the species. This plant is in a pot -- the reason for the yellow (chlorotic) leaves. Photo taken Apr. 14, 2010.

Meanie:
The flowers change each day from purple to lavender and ultimately white or cream.
Chlorotic means: the yellowing or whitening of normally green plant tissue because of a decreased amount of chlorophyll, often as a result of disease or nutrient deficiency. The leaves on this plant are having a nutrient deficiency, it appears to be nitrogen.

Six inch flowers in that colour would be lovely.
