Gilli as soon as I saw the pink plumes I was sold.....Dawn I will let you know next year lol

Dawn, they are quite well behaved. They form nice clumps and stay upright over the winter so have nice architechtural value.
DD....The pink plumes are lovely aren't they? It's so hot here in summer that I have to plant mine in part shade. I hope it doesn't take away from the colour of the plumes.

Gilli so it is hardy then? as I lost several grasses last year.....mine is in semi-shade..

It is hardy here DD...They are used a fair bit in landscaping...both 'Overdam' and 'Karl Forester'. They are supposed to thrive in clay soil and are hardy to zone 3...which is equivalent to northern BC and up into parts of Alaska.
