Carissa macrocarpa - Natal Plum

This is a very commonly planted shrub or hedge here in California. It blooms all year and produces edible plum-like fruit. The flowers are fragrant, smelling somewhat like plumeria, which it's related to. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on May 3, 2012.

Thanks! Most people just don't notice them. They are so widely plant as a median shrub, also.
