I remember this from my childhood as a string/chain of speckled green leaves and was told it was a rosary. I thought it was indoors though?

Ahhh - yes, it's common name is "Rosary Vine". The Ceropegias is a wonderful genus - google it under an image search!

I left the flat they were in in rather a hurry:( No place for them inside this cottage though. I did love them, they grew so long!
