Lovely scented shrub, blooms for a long time. known as wintersweet. bees love it almost as much as I do. takes awhile to off when first planted I found.

I'm sure it would, as it stands up to frost here and the blooms still hang on! It likes a bit of heat during the day to bring out the scent, so maybe plant it where the sun will shine on it at it's warmest. One thing though, it is the dullest looking shrub in the summer !

Thanks for the advice.
I might try this one in my garden.
I like winter interest plants :o)
Two of my recent photos show winter plants ~
Clematis cirrhosa 'Wisley Cream' and
Garrya elliptica 'James Roof'.
Don't know how well those two would grow in your area ?

I think they would grow OK, however I'm short on shady space for the Garrya elliptica, it's a shrub I do like. The clematis I have grown before but as an odd plant does, died without warning or cause, but obviously there was one or more !! maybe the summer heat was too much for it.
The chimonanthus is one I wouldn't be without, the scent is truly wonderful.
