Cistus Alan Fradd (For my File)

By Siris

Cistus Alan Fradd (For my File) (Cistus x purpureus)

Evergreen grey/green leaved shrub with white flowers with central blotch of yellow and Maroon. This border gets very dry as retained by next door's retaining wall, which is 2ft lower. Mediterranean type plants are happy here.

Those flowers are huge :)
That looks like a Cytisus battandieri next to it.

The flowers are out of all proportion to the young plant, but who's complaining. Not a Cytisus, it's a Cistus incanum creticus, a replacement for the straggly old specimen just to the right out of the pic.

I see. The Cistus will like that spot.

Thank you Dawn, I am hoping it will be happy here and is amenable to being trained up the fence as high as it would care to go.
