Spritz, they are but ..... in milder climates they survive winters providing the drainage is very good.
Several plants do that here so i would imagine they would with you too.

I thought they were - I grew some last year and tried to save some seed - no success due to the ultra-wet autumn.
Mine were a mixed colour packet, though - no names.
