Even more so, when this is the third attempt at keeping a Codonopsis safe from marauding snails. I have a copper ring round it, and hey presto - it's still here! :-))

You could be right...except when you get snails that parachute in. Last year they ate my lupins from the top down! Grrrr.....

I have the ones that can swim! I put a rare Tricyrtis on a gravel island in the middle of a tray and they still munched it!
