Leaves of Varegated Lily of the Valley in a bucket sunk into ground as can be invasive and is difficult to removed when entrenched

I expect the plain green is more of a spreader than the variegated. I had great trouble getting the plain out from around the roots of a Pear tree. That plain one is now in a old washing-up bowl sunk into the ground.
