I'm not 100% certain what conditions this one needs. It was planted last February beside a path, facing north but getting late afternoon sun during the summer. The soil is quite humusy and never dries out but never gets waterlogged either

Yes, it is similar to coum both in size and time of flowering but the leaves are a different shape. I think it needs a slightly less dry position as well

very pretty. Andrew, do you think things are flowering early this year at all?

Intresting comment on size the C.alpinums, the ones i grow are smaller in both leaves and flowers than Coum nearer to the size of intaminatum, but not quite.
I have considered they would get badley damaged in the open ground and have them in pots.
Have just brought a plant in to the house will take a photo with a coum leaf alongside for you to see.

I love cyclamen but not got any so been buying corms and seeds. I want them to grown under my trees, I believe they like these conditions. Take ages to germinate from seed but I am quite patient but the years go by so fast and Im not getting younger. Good luck with them Andrew.

Karen - no, my bulbs are late this year (but not as late as last year). The witch hazel was about a week later than normal but I think the garrya and sarcococca are 'on time'

OK andrew, that blows my 'early spring' hopes then! Never mind!
