Daphne calcicola - 2017

Daphne calcicola - 2017 (Daphne calcicola)

Dense, evergreen bush that usually needs a bit of light pruning to prevent it from becoming leggy. Needs a sheltered site, carries bright yellow flowers in May-June (but it has got a little confused).
There is some doubt whether this is a form of D. aurantiaca. They are very similar, but D. calicola is smaller. However, it only grows on poor soils in the wild which may stunt its growth.
