I don't know why I'm so amazed with this cactus...because so many of these cacti are widely planted outside in the landscape here. Now, more than ever, because of our crazy, crazy severe drought that's killing so many plants and trees. Soon cacti will be all we will be growing in San Diego! It's because our winters are getting hotter and hotter and dry as a bone, feeling like an extension of summer. In all the years I lived in San Diego we never had night time winter temps 80 - 85ºF (27 - 30ºC) at 11 p.m. to midnight! Crazy!!!
