There's so many species of Erythrina which grow here. It's not difficult to find good blooming specimens...it's just difficult trying to get a good photo.

Do you know if your E. crista-galli is cutting-grown? It will bloom sooner, if so.
The large E. crista-galli around the corner from me is blooming right now. It's amazing it's blooming after the huge butcher job that was done to this tree about a month ago or so.

Hopefully, it is...as it can take many, many years to bloom if grown from seed.

I'm pretty sure that it would have bloomed had it not been for the spider mite attack this year - the trunk is about 60mm in diameter at the base.

Erythrina species tend to have large to gigantic trunks. E. crista-galli is one which has a very large trunk. The tree around the corner from me has a trunk circumference of probably more than 3 feet/1 meter.
Also, Erythrina must have full, hot sun most of the day to bloom.
