This member of the Amaryllidaceae family was growing was growing in the tropical house Oxfords botanic gardens today. One of the days stars for me!
Native to Peru.

I had a fleeting daft thought...That they could come up with a daff like that and make a fortune. Then I magnified it and thought no.......This is beautiful.

This is a beauty. Cant be more difficult than hymenocallis, surely Meanie. Whatever you do, dont challenge Sticki with those hand leaf collectors with the jagged ends...she's like a tiger with those lol! I will be ref. (and pinch the bulbs while you are fighting!
