DD - according to a book I am reading on fritillaries, it should be 10 to 16 inches, but mine is nearer two feet! I put it in the raised bulb bed because I thought it would be smaller.

This was my first Frit to emerge and promptly got decimated by slugs.

HB - I think there about half a dozen species of fritillaries with this combination of colours. They're not "in your face", so only available from specialist nurseries.
