Gaura lindheimi(update for my file) (Gaura lindheimeri (Gaura))

Gaura 'Crimson Butterfly' has probably been the longest and most floriferous plant in my garden this year.

Lovely! I dont know why, but every time I see Gaura I think ...I must remember to buy a Gillenia trifoliata! I have no idea how the two became associated in my mind! Lol!

Both begin with a G, they both have varieties in white and pink, there the similarity ends.

You just reminded me Karen that I also want to buy Gillenia trifoliata (since our garden tour last year) but I never see it in our garden centers. At least it is not obvious to me. I did manage to get the Garrya elliptica couple of weeks ago which was on my list for the longest time.
Nice bright colour of your Gaura, Siris.

No Klahanie..we dont see it here either, which is why I don't have it. I shall need to go online.

You are fortunate Karen that you have so many places in UK to order online. There are many in US also but they will not mail to Canada. (and verse-versa) I cannot even go and get it either. Very restricted for vegetation and agricultural products. I would not even attempt to smuggle it. Canadian growers are somewhat limited in numbers and in variety of plants. I kind of understand why, though.

Karen, I would offer you a bit of my white Gillenia, but only bought it this year and it is still too small. I think it is now the wrong time of year to find one. I bought mine at a small local nursery, which also grows the pink, but out of stock.

Thanks Sue. They have little ones at Crocus, but I think I shall wait until the spring now. Thanks though, very kind of you to think of me. :)
