I'm forever picking up odd stones on my travels and have done since I was young. Had a brainwave when I was labelling my plants when i started the new garden. I scrub any smoothish light stones and use indelible pen. Ive made mistakes and tried with water, jiff and wirewool to scrub off but just wont budge, sofar for me the ideal solution to the disintegrating disappearing plant labels.

Plant good, labels brilliant. If I dig 2 spades depth, pebbles down there, so raw material readily available. Ps. I recycle plastic labels by scrubbing with Ajax.
