Hibiscus acetosella

Hibiscus acetosella (Hibiscus acetosella)

This deep purple flower belongs to a hibiscus shrub which has foliage similar to that of the Japanese maple (Acer palmatum)
As with all hibiscus, each bloom only lasts about a day but the buds form along the length of each stem.

Lovely photo. The colour contrasts nicely with the whitish steps.
