Nice, airy clusters of blooms. I really like the way this plant looks, wonder if it would grow here on the east coast. Do you know if it has a fragrance ? I'll have to look this one up for more info.

It does have a fragrance, but not an overpowering one. They seem to bloom everywhere in the Pacific Northwest, areas with huge variance in temperature and moisture so I think you have a solid chance of it working out. It grows 4-9 feet tall. Another name for it is ironwood. Good luck.

Hi Sarah65. Someone on this site is trying to identify a shrub that looks pretty much like this photo, but the RHS book says it has grey hairy undersides to the leaves, and that's not present on the version they've got. Does your plant have hairy undersides?
