Iresine lindenii - Bloodleaf

I have many Bloodleaf plants all around the front yard. It's commonly grown as a sub-shrub (to 6ft/2m tall) filler plant in semi-shade here in San Diego, CA. Also, it's very fast growing. Photo taken Jan. 29, 2011.

Looks like its good for ground cover too, lovely colour and markings on the leaves.

Did you have it growing outside?
Iresine lindenii is a very tender plant native to the tropical rainforest of Columbia.

I did bring it in over winter but still died off whilst inside :o((

That's strange. Did it get bugs? Did it get enough water?
It's a very thirsty plant...and needs a lot of water all year.

Ar that could be the problem i only watered it occasionally
so as not over water it...:o(((

Yes, this plant can...even in a pot tolerate a lot of water without rotting. It has quite a big root system also.
