Iresine lindenii - Bloodleaf

Iresine lindenii - Bloodleaf (Iresine lindenii - Bloodleaf)

I have many Bloodleaf plants all around the front yard. It's commonly grown as a sub-shrub (to 6ft/2m tall) filler plant in semi-shade here in San Diego, CA. Also, it's very fast growing. Photo taken Jan. 29, 2011.

Palmate:

Did you have it growing outside?

Iresine lindenii is a very tender plant native to the tropical rainforest of Columbia.

Palmate:

Sorry to hear about your Bloodleaf! :>(

That's strange. Did it get bugs? Did it get enough water?
It's a very thirsty plant...and needs a lot of water all year.

Palmate:

Yes, this plant can...even in a pot tolerate a lot of water without rotting. It has quite a big root system also.
