I've only every seen blue iris, are yellow ones common?

The bright yellow ones can be seen beside rivers or ponds in Britain. This pale yellow version is quite unusual.

hope it spreads! do they self-sow?

3 Jun, 2014

No, they don't self sow, but the roots run quite aggressively. It is planted in a basket in the pond, and needs dividing every three or four years.
